Where to Wash a King-Size Comforter in Rochester, NY | Made New Laundry

If you’ve ever tried to shove a king-size comforter into your washer at home, you probably already know where this is going.

Just because you can get the door closed doesn’t necessarily mean you should.

A comforter needs room to move inside the washer so that water and detergent can actually circulate through it. When bulky bedding is packed too tightly into a machine, it may not wash or rinse evenly—and a soaking-wet king comforter is not exactly fun to wrestle with afterward.

It’s one of the reasons people come to Made New Laundry specifically for bedding.

What size washer do you need for a king-size comforter?

For large comforters, blankets and other bulky bedding, a commercial-size washer is usually your best bet.

At Made New Laundry, our washers range from 18 lbs all the way up to 80 lbs. Our largest machines hold the equivalent of approximately eight traditional loads of laundry, which gives bulky items plenty of space to move around.

And yes—they are BIG.

If you're not sure which machine makes sense for what you brought, just ask us. We'd much rather help you choose the right size than have you pay for more washer than you need—or try to squeeze everything into one that's too small.

You don't need to save an entire day for it

This is probably our favorite part.

Our Electrolux commercial washers have a 450G high-speed final spin. In normal-person language? They pull a LOT of water out of your laundry before it ever reaches the dryer.

Less water left in your comforter means less time spent trying to dry it.

Most of our customers can complete a full wash and dry in around 45 minutes, although especially thick bedding can require additional drying time.

So this doesn't have to become the Saturday project you’ve been putting off for three months.

Bring the comforter. Grab a coffee. Get it done.

What else can you wash in a large-capacity machine?

Comforters may be the obvious one, but our big machines come in handy for all sorts of things.

Think quilts, blankets, sleeping bags, sheets, towels or simply that slightly terrifying mountain of laundry your family somehow created.

They're also great after vacations. Instead of coming home and spending the next two days running load after load through your home washer, you can use several machines at once and knock it out.

As a family-owned business, this one hits particularly close to home for us. We understand how quickly laundry multiplies.

Can Made New wash my comforter for me?

Absolutely.

If you'd rather not stay and do it yourself, we also offer drop-off laundry service. Bring your comforter or laundry to us and our team can wash, dry and fold it for you.

Sometimes the best laundry hack is simply…not doing the laundry.

Big Machines, Less Laundry Stress: Why Customers Love Our Large-Capacity Washers

Sometimes the biggest difference in laundry day is simple: the size of the machine.

At Made New Laundry, one of the things customers love most is that we have machines for all load sizes, including large-capacity washers that make it easier to wash comforters, bedding, towels, and big family loads all in one trip. Our website highlights this as one of the biggest reasons people choose us, and customer reviews specifically mention that we have machines for all load sizes and that our oversized machines are perfect for bulky items.

If you have been searching for a laundromat near Rochester or Henrietta with big machines, that is exactly what Made New Laundry is built for.

Why big machines matter

When you are doing laundry at home, it is easy to get stuck washing load after load after load. Towels fill one cycle. Bedding fills another. Kids’ clothes and sports clothes pile up fast. And comforters? Those often do not fit well in a home washer at all.

Large-capacity washers change that.

Instead of splitting everything up into multiple small loads, customers can wash much more at once. Made New Laundry’s self-service pages describe the store as offering large-capacity machines for comforters, bedding, and big loads, and your FAQ specifically says the 80 lb, 8-load washers are designed for comforters, blankets, sleeping bags, and oversized household items.

That means fewer cycles, less waiting around, and a much easier laundry day.

Great for comforters, bedding, and bulky items

One of the most common reasons people come to Made New Laundry is because they have something too bulky for a home machine.

Your website already calls out bulky-item washing as a core use case, and one featured testimonial says, “My comforters are SO happy now!” The store’s self-service and location pages also emphasize that these large-capacity machines are ideal for comforters, bedding, and big loads.

For customers in Rochester, Henrietta, Brighton, Pittsford, and Mendon, that makes Made New Laundry a practical option when home machines just are not enough.

Big family laundry gets done faster

Large machines are not just for oversized items. They are also a huge help for families.

A week’s worth of family laundry can add up quickly, especially with kids, sports, bedding, towels, and everyday clothes. On your website, you list washer sizes from 18 lb to 80 lb, with the 80 lb washer fitting up to 8 loads in under 30 minutes. That gives customers the option to choose the size that actually fits their laundry day instead of being forced into multiple smaller loads.

That is one reason customers who try a large-capacity laundromat often realize how much faster and easier it can be than doing laundry one small load at a time at home.

Professional machines designed for performance

Made New Laundry uses Electrolux Professional Line 6000 commercial washers, which Electrolux describes as high-productivity front-load washers designed to make laundry operations fast and cost controlled.

For customers, that means equipment built for bigger loads, frequent use, and a more efficient self-service experience. Combined with your large-capacity dryer setup and comfortable space, it helps make laundry feel less like an all-day project.

3 Ways to Cut Laundry Time in Half (Yes, Really!)

If you’ve ever lost a whole day to laundry, you know the pain. Sorting, washing, drying, folding… it can feel endless. But here in Rochester, there’s a better way — and it starts with the right machines, the right setup, and the right spot (spoiler: we know just the place).

Tip 1 – Use High-Spin, High-Capacity Washers
Bigger isn’t just better — it’s faster. Our extra-large Electrolux washers spin out more water, so your clothes dry in record time. And you can wash comforters, blankets, and big loads in one shot instead of splitting them up.

Tip 2 – Skip the Wait with Real-Time Machine Tracking
Ever walked into a laundromat, baskets in hand, only to find every machine taken? Yeah, no thanks. Our Laundroworks app lets you check machine availability and cycle times before you even leave your driveway.

Tip 3 – Fold as You Go
We’ve got wide, clean folding tables ready the second your load finishes. Fold now, save time later — and avoid that mountain of wrinkled laundry at home.

Rochester life is busy. Whether you’re a student at MCC, a parent juggling kids’ activities, or just someone who values their time, Made New Laundry helps you cut laundry time in half so you can get back to what matters.
